We have buddleia this spring in containers as small as 2.5 quarts! This product page is for a mix of assorted types, but we're seeing a lot of Black Knight Buddleia in this mix at the moment. If you have a certain color that you're looking for, it would be best to stop by the nursery and see what we have on hand. If you place your order online for pick up, we'll simply select a pretty plant from one of the mix (no specific color guaranteed).
Buddleia is also known as butterfly bush. Depending on the variety, butterfly bush can reach heights of 18" all the way up to 6-8' tall.
These tolerate full sun to part shade and like regular watering in well-drained soil.
Buddleias generally lose their leaves in the autumn, but will come back in the spring. A good prune down to 12" is recommended in late autumn or early spring (as soon as temperatures start to warm up) to encourage fresh, new growth. Blooms grow on new wood, so it is very important to prune your butterfly bush in late winter/early spring.
Recommended for Zones 5-10.
