Bird of Paradise is one of the most popular tropical plants. Its distinctive flower resembles the head of an orange tropical bird peeking through the foliage.

Bird of Paradise originates from South Africa and is actually a member of the banana family. Orange Bird of Paradise matures in at about 3-5' tall, with a spread of 3-5' wide.

Bird of Paradise needs 4-6 hours of sun each day to bloom. Flower stalks appear in the fall and continue through until late spring. A healthy and happy orange Bird of Paradise can produce up to 36 flowers per year.

More cold tolerant than you might think, the orange Bird of Paradise can tolerate temperatures down to 30°F, but prolonged exposure to freezing temperatures will damage the plant.

We sell Orange Bird of Paradise in 7, 15 and 30 gallon containers.

Nursery pick up only (or we'll deliver to you for an additional fee). No shipping as of this time. Please remember some plants look different in different seasons, for the most accurate visual representation of our plants, it's best to visit our nursery.
