Pond Cypress is considered to be a 'dwarf' version of Bald Cypress-- using dwarf loosely, as Pond Cypress can still reach mature heights of about 70' feet (versus the Bald Cypress, which can mature in at about 120' tall).
Like Bald Cypress, Pond Cypress is also deciduous. The needle-like foliage can turn a rust color before dropping when cold settles in. Pond Cypress puts out new growth each spring.
Both Bald and Pond cypress grow in similar areas and even hybridize in the wild.
