This African Iris produces pure white blooms with a soft lavender center. It has pops of golden honey and her delicate chocolate brown markings almost look painted on. It's truly a unique and very beautiful flower!

As you might have guessed, this beauty originates in South Africa, making her extremely hardy and drought resistant. She can reach heights of 3' and as the plant matures she will clump out and a single, mature plant will produce many, many blooms over the course of its growing season.

It is important not to cut the flower stalks of spent blooms, as successive blooms will reemerge from the same stalk. After she puts on her final late summer show and takes a bow (around early autumn), then you will want to prune her all the way down to 2-3" from the ground. This ensures she does not spend vital energy trying to keep her foliage perfect over the dormant season and will ensure you a plethora of blooms next spring.

The African Iris prefers full sun for maximum blooms, but will tolerate part shade. After purchasing, be generous with the water for the first three weeks or so (after that this is a very low effort plant that will reward you with lots of gorgeous blooms).

We sell White African Iris in two sizes-- one gallon and three gallon containers.

Nursery pick up only (or we'll deliver to you for an additional fee). No shipping as of this time. Please remember some plants look different in different seasons, for the most accurate visual representation of our plants, it's best to visit our nursery. Online orders will be ready for pick up within 48 hours (usually sooner).
