Anise is a unique plant with a lot of quirky characteristics. It keeps a shrub form and matures in at about 10' tall, but could be kept smaller with regular pruning. Anise has a wonderful, intoxicating smell that is reminiscent of biscotti or licorice. The essential oils derived from the leaves cover human scent, and is used by hunters, however, if you are a hunter and using this as a scent cover, please note that bears love the smell of licorice, lol! 

This delightful shrub enjoys full shade. It is cold hardy down to 0°F to 10°F and the yellow variety is a Florida native.
