Also known as the Peruvian Lily, not only do Alstromeria blooms look beautiful on the plant, but they also boast an incredible vase life. These cheerful little blooms come in a wide array of colors and if you order this plant for nursery pick up, you may get one with white and pink blooms (like the one shown below) or you may get more of an overall fuchsia or burgundy. These come as a mixed assortment from our grower, so we don't even know the bloom colors until each plant blooms.
In our area full morning sun and afternoon shade is preferred over the hottest parts of the summer, however once established these can tolerate full sun, if needed. Water deeply about once a week.
Alstromeria is a perennial. It will die back in the winter, but the rhizomes underground will be just fine and they'll come back every spring.
As mentioned, Alstromeria makes a great cut flower, lasting up to two weeks in water with proper care.
To keep your little Peruvian lilies looking their best you can make a special water solution to prolong their life. Simply mix in half a teaspoon of sugar, a teaspoon of lemon juice and a just a few drops of bleach in four cups of room temperature water. Cut flowers naturally start to seal their ends every few days, snipping the flower stems will reopen any sealed off parts and will allow your cut flower to access water freely again.
We sell our mixed Alstromeria in one gallon containers.
Nursery pick up only (or we'll deliver to you for an additional fee). No shipping as of this time. Please remember some plants look different in different seasons, for the most accurate visual representation of our plants, it's best to visit our nursery. Online orders will be ready for pick up within 48 hours (usually sooner).
